 | Clarence Smith and youngest son Douglas. Photo anc caption by Richard Smith. Clarence came from Ohio in late 1800's with father, mother, sister and brother, working as carpenters. Mother, sister and brother settled in Meridian. Clarence and father came on to Ellisville, then to Hattiesburg. They owned the first bicycle and motorcycle shop in Hattiesburg. It was the only one until after Clarence's death. Clarence is shown here with youngest son Douglas, with a 1930's model motorcycle in driveway of home at 437 Buschman street, where he lived until his death. |
